Northrop Grumman has been awarded an $862.8 million U.S. Army contract to manufacture, inspect, test, package, and deliver M1156 Precision Guidance Kits (PGKs) and variants through September 2031.
The firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract was awarded by the Army Contracting Command in Newark, New Jersey.
The M1156 Precision Guidance Kit (PGK) is a GPS guidance kit with fuzing functions. It is adaptable to the existing stockpile of M795 and M549A1 high-explosive 155mm projectiles. The PGK is designed to correct the projectile’s ballistic trajectory, reducing delivery errors and improving accuracy.
