The U.S. Army announced the production phase of the Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node (TITAN) program, awarding two contracts totaling $192 million to defense tech giants Palantir Technologies and Anduril Industries.
Awards to Palantir and Anduril are valued at $127 million and $65 million, respectively. The delivery orders together cover the procurement and integration of eight initial production systems, comprising four TITAN Advanced and four TITAN Basic variants.
According to the army’s statement, Palantir will lead the overall production for the TITAN systems in collaboration with L3 Harris Technologies, Sierra Nevada Corporation, Strategic Technology Consulting, and World Wide Technology. Anduril is set to deliver critical hardware components and execute shelter integration.
TITAN is the AI-enabled ground station that supports multi-domain operations and long-range precision fires.
“This effort is the result of Soldier feedback we have received over the past four years of prototyping from units utilizing TITAN prototypes in multiple configurations across diverse operating environments,” said Col. Jonathan Lipscomb, Project Manager for Intelligence Systems and Analytics. “TITAN is a key solution that enhances the speed of target recognition and geolocation from multiple sensors. It drastically reduces sensor-to-shooter timelines through automated target nominations while fusing the common intelligence picture.”
With delivery scheduled over the next 18 months, the systems produced will directly join the nine prototype units the U.S. Army currently retains for operational use.
