Turkish defense company ASELSAN unveiled an expanded range of precision-guided munitions for use with the Akinci unmanned combat drone produced by the Turkish defense giant Baykar.
According to the company’s announcement, the TOLUN “deep-strike munition family” can deliver precision strikes under all operational conditions, highlighting three variants equipped for different target types and missions.
The TOLUN I and TOLUN F combine a fragmentation warhead with an impact fuze and a proximity sensor, respectively. The TOLUN P features a programmable time fuze and a penetration warhead designed for hardened targets.
Aselsan CEO Ahmet Akyol said that cooperation between the two Turkish defense companies would provide precision-strike capabilities and a high destructive effect on the battlefield.
“The TOLUN family continues to offer superior precision and high impact under all conditions with its diversifying capabilities. With the multiplier effect of serial production, these capabilities will continue to be game-changing in the skies,” Akyol shared.
The Akinci combat drone can carry a wide range of domestically produced air-to-ground and air-to-air munitions, enabling it to perform strategic strikes and other combat missions.
Earlier, ASELSAN has reached 40th place in the Defense News Top 100 ranking of defense companies worldwide.
