Former Ukrainian Defense Minister to launch defense-tech company with Palantir CEO as first major investor

Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov plans to establish a new defense-tech company. Alex Karp, the CEO of the American software developer Palantir, will become the first major investor, Reuters reports, citing the press release from Fedorov’s team.

“The new company will build on Fedorov’s experience in modern technological warfare, with its primary mission to strengthen Ukraine and develop defense technologies that can help build a safer future for the entire world,” a press release from Fedorov’s team said on Tuesday.

Fedorov and Karp reportedly met at Palantir’s office in Washington, D.C. on Monday.

They had worked together for “half a decade,” Reuters cites, with Palantir providing software to Ukraine.

Fedorov served as Ukrainian Defense Minister between January and July 2026 before his dismissal.
