The UK Government announced on Tuesday a £100 million ($135 million) commitment for an air defense kit for Ukraine, including interceptors, large-caliber artillery rounds, drones, and Patriot missiles.
The contribution will go towards NATO’s Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL). This year, the UK intends to provide over 120,000 drones to Ukraine, with 25,000 delivered to date.
Previously, the UK delivered its millionth round of large-caliber artillery ammunition to Ukraine. In the upcoming months, the UK will deliver tens of thousands of long-range artillery rounds, funded by Britain, Germany, Denmark, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden.
The military support follows the Prime Minister’s visit to Kyiv and his announcement that the UK has agreed that defense company MBDA can release classified information on UK components for the long-range missile, SCALP, also known as Storm Shadow, to establish local assembly lines in Ukraine.
Today, the UK Government also launched the new National Space Strategy, which includes £7.8 billion ($10.5 billion) in investment until 2030.
