Defense giant Lockheed Martin shared details of the 9th annual Lockheed Martin Ventures Demo Day. The event took place at the company’s headquarters in August, bringing together 18 portfolio companies and emerging startups for a two-day program.
Lockheed Martin Ventures is a Lockheed Martin’s venture capital fund that invests in early-stage defense and aerospace startups. According to the press release, participating organizations included Fabri, Intalus Tech, Slingshot Aerospace, JITX, Living Optics, and more. The companies showcased innovative prototypes, with the experts and customers joining breakout sessions to co-create integration strategies and facilitate business partnerships.
“Instead of relying solely on internal research and long development cycles, we’ve created a pathway to rapidly identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies from startups. This approach can accelerate the delivery of new capabilities, strengthen the defense industrial base, and help ensure that advances in AI, autonomy, advanced manufacturing, and more are translated into operational systems more quickly,” the company shared in the statement.
Last month, Lockheed Martin completed second flight test of JR3 training rocket.
