The agreement has a potential value of up to $404 million and covers production and sustainment support through 2034. KONGSBERG said it will announce notable orders when call-offs are made.
KONGSBERG announced on September 28 that it had signed a framework agreement with the U.S. Marine Corps covering the Naval Strike Missile (NSM) launcher unit, weapon control system and ancillary support equipment.
The agreement provides for production and sustainment support, with deliveries extending through 2034. Its potential value is up to $404 million. KONGSBERG said it would announce notable order intake when the Marine Corps makes call-offs under the framework. The company did not disclose equipment quantities or the value of an initial order.
The Marine Corps uses NSM in its Navy/Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System, or NMESIS, a ground-based anti-ship missile system. According to Marine Corps Systems Command, NMESIS uses a remotely operated vehicle-based launcher carrying two NSMs.
KONGSBERG has a separate U.S. Navy agreement, announced in November 2024, to supply NSM missiles to the Navy and Fleet Marine Force. The newly announced Marine Corps framework concerns launcher units, weapon control systems and related support equipment.
