Norwegian defense company KONGSBERG announced on Sunday the premiere of a new documentary, “Sky Defenders,” that sheds light on the NASAMS air defense system, engineered by KONGSBERG and Raytheon.
Used by 18 countries worldwide, NASAMS is one of the most widely adopted air defense systems in its class. Its open and adaptable architecture enables the integration of new technologies, sensors, and effectors to meet changing needs.
Reportedly, “Sky Defenders” was filmed in Norway, Ukraine, Poland, Spain, the US, and Australia. The film was directed by Michael Fardell, who previously worked on defense-related documentaries “Stronger Together: 50 years of Defence Cooperation” (2023) and “Forged in Fire” (2023).
“The documentary provides a closer look at a system built on decades of technological development and close cooperation across nations and industry,” the company’s statement says.
“Sky Defenders” is now available on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video.
Last year, Hans Christian Hagen, Vice President of Business Development – Integrated Defense Systems at KONGSBERG, spoke to Defensehere.com, providing insights into NASAMS’ operational structure and unique features.
