Fincantieri has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with KAYO, an Albanian investment and infrastructure development company, to support the growth of the naval sector in Albania. The agreement was formalized during a ceremony attended by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Fincantieri CEO Pierroberto Folgiero.
The MoU outlines a collaborative framework for the development of naval infrastructure and capabilities in Albania. Under the agreement, the two companies will explore joint initiatives in shipbuilding, maintenance, repair, and modernization services. The cooperation also includes the potential transfer of know-how, workforce training, and long-term strategic projects that align with Albania’s defense and industrial priorities.
According to Fincantieri, the initiative is part of the company’s broader international strategy to strengthen cooperation with countries that seek to expand maritime capabilities and invest in local industrial development.
