The head of Russia’s state corporation Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, said the first Su-57E fighter jet will be delivered to a foreign customer in the near future.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, Chemezov stated that demand for Russian defense products abroad remains high. He noted that alongside deliveries to the Russian armed forces, more than 15 countries have received equipment since the beginning of 2025.
According to Chemezov, about 25 major contracts worth more than $9 billion have been signed this year, mostly for advanced systems such as drones, aircraft, helicopters, aircraft engines, air defense systems, and precision weapons. He confirmed that work is underway to fulfill the Su-57E export contract.
Chemezov also highlighted Rosoboronexport’s record order book.
“Rosoboronexport’s order portfolio has reached $60 billion – a record in the company’s 25 years of operations. The explanation is simple: partners see the capabilities of our weapons in the special military operation zone. To purchase them, they are willing to wait a little. This year the situation is beginning to change significantly. We have accelerated production at a serious pace,” he said.
In February 2025, reports indicated that Russia was holding talks with several countries over the Su-57E, with initial deliveries expected to go to customers in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa. Potential buyers mentioned at the time included Algeria, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and Myanmar. Analysts noted that Russia aimed to promote the aircraft’s low radar visibility coating and advanced avionics as key advantages in the export market.
