Navantia and Royal Caribbean Group have signed a new strategic framework agreement to strengthen their longstanding cooperation on cruise ship repair, modernization, and revitalization projects. The signing ceremony took place at Royal Caribbean’s headquarters in Miami.
The collaboration between the two companies began in 2012 with the revitalization of two Royal Caribbean vessels at Navantia’s Cádiz shipyard. Since then, 45 ships have undergone upgrades at the Spanish facility, reinforcing Navantia’s role as a key partner in the cruise ship services sector.

Marcos Díaz, General Director of Ship Repairs at Navantia, and Anders Aasen, Senior Vice President of Global Marine Technology at Royal Caribbean Group, signed the renewed agreement. Navantia highlighted the partnership’s track record and expressed confidence in continued successful dockings and operations in the years ahead.
The ongoing project involving the cruise ship Allure of the Seas at the Cádiz yard is one of the most recent examples of the cooperation. The vessel previously underwent work at the same facility in 2015 and 2020.
