At the FEINDEF 2025 defense exhibition in Madrid, Alfonso Valea Gonzalez, Director of Business Development & Commercial at Navantia, spoke with defensehere.com about the company's continued engagement with the Turkish Navy. Following the TCG Anadolu program, Navantia is maintaining an active presence in Türkiye to support system maintenance and lifecycle operations.
According to Valea, Navantia’s involvement goes beyond basic upkeep. The company is assisting with advanced systems like the IPMS and is open to expanding its role in future Turkish submarine development, particularly in integrating next-generation AIP systems. Navantia is positioning itself as a long-term strategic partner for the Turkish Navy, bringing decades of integration experience with major systems.
On the domestic front, Navantia is advancing two major naval programs: the F-110 frigate and the S-80 submarine. The first F-110 is expected to launch later this year, while the second S-80 submarine is scheduled to float this summer. Valea emphasized that Navantia’s delivery timeline is ahead of schedule something the company considers a competitive edge on the global stage.
