Damen Naval has signed an agreement with Danish Terma Group to supply the C-Guard Decoy Launching System for the PES frigate currently being built for the Colombian Navy. The vessel, based on Damen Naval’s SIGMA 10514 design, is the first of its kind to be constructed in Colombia in partnership with the state-owned shipbuilder COTECMAR.

Under the contract, Terma will deliver its C-Guard system, which enhances the ship’s protection against a range of air and underwater threats through advanced Anti-Aircraft Warfare (AAW) and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) modules.

The partnership reflects growing cooperation between Northern European defense companies in supporting Colombia’s naval modernization efforts. The collaboration combines Damen’s shipbuilding experience with Terma’s expertise in naval defense systems.

“We are pleased to integrate Terma’s advanced C-Guard system into the PES frigate,” said Jasper Oreel, Project Director at Damen Naval. “Its proven performance and modular configuration are a strong match for the mission versatility of the SIGMA 10514 platform. We look forward to successful project execution and continued cooperation with Terma.”

Martin T. Jentsch, Sales Director for Naval Sales at Terma, stated, “We are proud of the relationship and trust received by Damen Naval and we welcome the opportunity to work even closer, not only with Damen Naval but also the Colombian Navy. With the selection of Terma’s C-Guard decoy system, this platform has opted for a future-proof, round-agnostic, and automatic countermeasure system, with more than 150 systems in operation.”
