The order reinforces SFO Technologies’ long-standing expertise and collaboration with Thales on multiple major programmes and marks a milestone in Thales’ Make in India initiative for localizing advanced radar systems.

The contract follows the recent order of 26 Rafale aircraft for the Indian Navy and is designed to boost domestic manufacturing capabilities for critical Rafale subsystems. The collaboration covers precision machining, assembly/wiring, electronics, microelectronics, and complex system integration, strengthening India’s defence ecosystem and operational self-reliance.

Key points:

  • System: RBE2 AESA Radar for Indian Rafale

  • Scope: Complex wired structures, electronics, assembly, integration

  • Objective: Support Make in India initiative, enhance local manufacturing

  • Partners: Thales (prime contractor), SFO Technologies (local partner)

  • Impact: Reinforces indigenous capabilities and operational excellence

Philippe Knoche, SEVP Operations and Performance at Thales, said the partnership reflects a “steadfast commitment to Make in India,” while N. Jehangir, Chairman & MD of SFO Technologies, emphasized quality and punctuality in contributing to Rafale production.
