General Dynamics Mission Systems announced it has been awarded an $18.2 million contract to develop, maintain, and deliver the Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) and Multi-Tube Weapon Simulator (MTWS) for the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom under the AUKUS partnership. The five-year cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price agreement could reach a total value of $230 million if all options are exercised.

Work under the contract will be conducted in Manassas, Virginia (60%); Charleroi, Pennsylvania (30%); and Middletown, Rhode Island (10%).

Progeny Systems, a business area of General Dynamics Mission Systems, will oversee the development of new and modernized submarine weapon launch and simulation capabilities while continuing to provide in-service support for previously delivered systems.
