The Doğan-class fast attack craft TCG Volkan, donated by Türkiye, has officially entered service with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF). According to the Turkish Ministry of National Defence, the transfer process began on July 1 and was completed on August 7. The vessel berthed at Malé Port on August 10, where a Turkish flag-lowering ceremony was held. The following day, TCG Volkan was formally inducted into the MNDF fleet during a ceremony in the Maldivian capital.

The event was attended by Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu, senior state officials, Türkiye’s Ambassador to Colombo Semih Lütfü Turgut, and Turkish Naval Forces Commander Admiral Kadir Yıldız.
