In an interview with Defensehere.com Eugen Ciemnyjewski, the Managing Director of Euroatlas, presented the company’s autonomous underwater vehicle Greyshark.
He said that they have entered the market of autonomous underwater vehicles in partnership with a German company EvoLogics.
He presented their autonomous underwater vehicle Greyshark and said that it will have three versions. The first version is the one which was presented during the fair Euronaval. It is a battery-driven vehicle which has a capability of 1-2 days of endurance. It will also have its first water testing in 12 weeks, as he said.
According to the feedback they received from the German Navy, they will develop a fuel-cell-driven autonomous underwater vehicle to increase the range and endurance. The shape will be similar to Greyshark and will have the same sensors. It will also have an endurance of 40 days.
He also said that they recommend their customers to buy the vehicles in swarms.
He highlighted the fact that the vehicles can serve as decoys for a submarine in missions.
He ended the interview by saying that they have received requests for underwater cruise missiles from two countries.
