DIMDEX partners with Joaan Academy for Naval Commanders Forum

The Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) has signed a partnership agreement with the Joaan Bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies to co-host the Middle East Naval Commanders Conference (MENC) during its upcoming edition, scheduled for 19–22 January 2026 at the Qatar National Convention Centre.

DIMDEX 2026, organised by the Qatar Armed Forces under the patronage of Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, will feature MENC as one of its central components. This high-level conference will address the theme “Defence Diplomacy and Maritime Security Challenges”, bringing together naval leaders, defence officials, and maritime experts from around the world.

The agreement was formalised during a signing ceremony at the Joaan Bin Jassim Academy by Staff Brigadier (Sea) Abdulbaqi Saleh Al-Ansari, Chairman of the DIMDEX Organising Committee, and Staff Brigadier (Dr) Rajih Mohammed bin Aqeel Al-Nabet, President of the Academy.

Commenting on the collaboration, Brigadier Al-Ansari said:

“We are honoured to partner with the Joaan Bin Jassim Academy for Defence Studies, a leading institution in military sciences, to host the Middle East Naval Commanders Conference at DIMDEX 2026. This partnership will enable us to provide a premier platform for discussing the strategic challenges facing the defence and security community today.”

Brigadier Al-Nabet highlighted the Academy’s commitment to supporting national initiatives and academic cooperation:

“The Academy continues to focus on enhancing defence education and promoting civil-military integration. Through our joint efforts with DIMDEX, we aim to advance strategic dialogue and strengthen the country’s security and academic infrastructure.”

The Joaan Bin Jassim Academy plays a key role in developing both military and civilian leaders, with advanced training programmes in strategic studies, threat assessment, and national security policy development.

DIMDEX 2026 will take place under the theme “A Global Hub for Defence Innovations: Invest in Possibilities to Shape a Secure Tomorrow.” The event is expected to draw senior government officials, defence industry leaders, and decision-makers from across the world, positioning Doha as a regional centre for maritime defence cooperation and innovation.
