WIN Eurasia, the leading fair uniting the automation and machinery sectors, has officially opened its doors at the Istanbul Expo Center. Spanning six halls and covering a total area of 55,000 square meters, the event showcases cutting-edge solutions for digital transformation and advanced manufacturing technologies in industry.
The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Zekeriya Coştu, Istanbul Chamber of Commerce President Şekib Avdagiç, Turkish Machinery Federation President Adnan Dalgakıran, and Annika Klar, Chairwoman of Hannover Fairs Turkey. Over four days, the event will bring together hundreds of companies and thousands of industry professionals. The fair will conclude on May 31.
In his opening speech, Deputy Minister Coştu emphasized the strategic role of the machinery sector in Türkiye’s economy, noting significant growth in employment and exports in recent years. “Today, the sector employs more than 300,000 people. Revenues have grown from $5 billion to $50 billion, and exports are approaching $30 billion — clear indicators of transformation in this field,” he said.
Coştu stressed that digitalization, energy efficiency, and green transformation are now necessities rather than trends. He highlighted the importance of enhancing R&D and innovation capacity for sustainable growth. “Developing competencies in design, materials science, and software integration is vital for all players in the sector ecosystem,” he added.
Istanbul Chamber of Commerce President Şekib Avdagiç stated that WIN Eurasia is not only a platform for showcasing new technologies but also a key event shaping the future of production. He noted that the fair provides insights into the future of the industrial sector.
Machinery Federation President Adnan Dalgakıran pointed out the shift in global dynamics, saying that success today is about branding and standing out — not just production. “In an age where knowledge is so accessible, competition takes place in different areas,” he said.
Annika Klar, Chairwoman of Hannover Fairs Turkey, announced an expected attendance of 42,000 visitors this year. She said the fair features products in areas like electrical and energy automation, robotics, digital factories, and welding technologies. This year, for the first time, the Saudi Arabia national pavilion showcases various Saudi industrial companies.
WIN Eurasia continues to aim at boosting international trade. The fair is hosting over 200 buyers from more than 15 countries, including Serbia, Romania, Azerbaijan, Tunisia, Iran, Jordan, and Kazakhstan.
