Türkiye’s Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler welcomed UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer upon his arrival in Ankara for an official visit at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The welcoming ceremony took place at Mürted Air Base Command. Starmer was accompanied by UK Defence Secretary John Healey and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Harv Smyth.

According to reports, Prime Minister Starmer is expected to brief President Erdoğan on the latest developments regarding the ongoing discussions between Türkiye and the United Kingdom over the potential procurement of Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets.
