The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), part of the state conglomerate Rostec, has delivered another batch of Su-34 fighter-bombers to the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) as part of the state defense order, the company announced.
According to Rostec, the Su-34 “has proven its effectiveness in combat operations” and remains “one of the key elements of Russia’s tactical aviation.” The corporation said production lines continue to operate at full capacity to meet demand from the military. “Our aircraft plants maintain high production rates and regularly deliver new Su-34s to the customer. Additional deliveries are planned before the end of the year,” Rostec said in a statement.
The newly built aircraft underwent all required ground and flight tests before being handed over to the Ministry of Defense.
A pilot from the Russian Aerospace Forces said the aircraft allows missions to be conducted “across the entire speed range.” He added: “This aircraft has proven itself during the special military operation. We can employ both guided and unguided aerial munitions.”
The Su-34 is designed to strike ground, surface, and air targets, including infrastructure facilities protected by air defense systems and located far from base airfields. It can also be used for aerial reconnaissance missions.
UAC General Director Vadim Badekha said: “UAC enterprises maintain a high pace of combat aircraft production, fulfilling obligations to the Aerospace Forces. This is not the last delivery this year. Our teams continuously improve production processes to meet the requirements of the Ministry of Defense.”
