Saab has secured a new order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for its Giraffe 4A radar systems and associated support services. Valued at approximately SEK 1.4 billion, the contract covers deliveries scheduled between 2026 and 2027.

The Giraffe 4A system will enhance Sweden’s ground-based air surveillance capabilities by providing a mobile, software-upgradable radar platform. Designed as a multi-functional sensor, Giraffe 4A enables the simultaneous tracking of numerous airborne and maritime targets, making it well-suited for both defense surveillance and military air traffic control.

“We are proud to continue supporting the Swedish Armed Forces with a key element in their new sensor system program, contributing to the long-term development of Sweden’s national defense capabilities,” said Carl-Johan Bergholm, Head of Saab’s Business Area Surveillance.
