STM, one of the leading companies in Türkiye's defense industry, has marked an exceptional year in 2024 with groundbreaking achievements in national projects, international collaborations, and innovative technological developments. Here are the highlights of STM’s remarkable contributions in 2024:
Türkiye’s National Defence Projects Reach New Heights
- The first national frigate, TCG ISTANBUL, was delivered to the Turkish Navy, symbolizing a significant leap in Türkiye’s naval capabilities.
- TCG ISTANBUL conducted its maiden firing with Türkiye’s first indigenous vertical launch system, MİDLAS.
- TCG ÜTĞM. ARİF EKMEKÇİ, a logistic support ship, joined the Turkish Navy, enhancing operational flexibility.
- The TCG PİRİREİS, a Reis-class submarine in which STM played a key role, was successfully delivered, while TCG HIZIRREİS began sea trials, and TCG MURATREİS entered the dock outfitting phase.
- STM assumed the responsibility for system procurement and platform integration in the mid-life modernization of Gür-class submarines.
Breakthroughs in Technology and Cybersecurity
- Türkiye’s first indigenous fighter jet, KAAN, whose platform cybersecurity is overseen by STM, completed its maiden flight.

- Under the LMS Batch-II Project, STM is designing and building three corvettes for the Royal Malaysian Navy, with the steel-cutting ceremony held in 2024.
- The BOYGA Ammunition-Drop UAV was exported for the first time, expanding Türkiye’s UAV market footprint.
- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between STM and Karachi Shipyard for logistic support ships for the Royal Saudi Navy.

- The TCG KINALIADA Corvette, supported by STM, completed a 4.5-month voyage to Japan.
