Shield AI and HII announced a partnership at DSEI 2025 in London to develop modular mission autonomy solutions across multiple domains.

The agreement will integrate Shield AI’s Hivemind mission autonomy software with HII’s Odyssey suite. The collaboration is expected to advance applications for unmanned surface and undersea vehicles, adding to existing uses of Hivemind on air platforms such as the MQ-20 Avenger, V-BAT, and F-16.

Executives from both companies said the partnership aims to accelerate the delivery of scalable and interoperable systems. HII emphasized its experience in maritime integration, while Shield AI highlighted the expansion of its autonomy technology into naval operations.

Hivemind enables unmanned systems to carry out missions in GPS- and communications-denied environments, while Odyssey provides open-architecture software that supports integration of sensors, payloads, and third-party autonomy. Odyssey has been used on more than 35 unmanned surface vehicle platforms with thousands of operational hours across U.S. and allied fleets.

The collaboration positions both companies to advance autonomy in air, land, surface, and undersea environments, responding to increasing demand for flexible and interoperable defense technologies.
