The Polish Operational Command of the Armed Forces announced that the Polish Military Contingent in Türkiye has started operational flights using Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial systems (UAS), marking a new phase in its patrol and reconnaissance missions.
The TB2 drones, sourced from Poland’s 12th Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Base, replace the previously used BRYZA aircraft from the Naval Aviation Brigade. According to the command, the transition to the Bayraktar TB2 significantly enhances the contingent’s operational capabilities.
The deployment is part of NATO’s Tailored Assurance Measures for Türkiye, aimed at strengthening allied forces in the Mediterranean region. Regular use of the TB2 is expected to improve reconnaissance efficiency and overall mission effectiveness.Poland’s Ministry of National Defence highlighted that the country continues to actively support its allies, contributing to the stability of NATO’s southern flank.
