L3Harris Technologies has delivered a second Bombardier Global 6500 aircraft configured for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations, expanding its fleet of specialized platforms built on business jet airframes.

The delivery follows the company’s first handover of a similarly modified Global 6500 in February 2025. Both aircraft are now fully operational and equipped with integrated radar, electronic, and communications intelligence systems intended to support long-range surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

According to L3Harris, the Global 6500 platform offers enhanced payload capacity, increased survivability, and extended standoff range, making it suitable for a variety of ISR roles. The conversion of commercial aircraft into ISR platforms continues to draw interest from operators seeking a balance between cost efficiency and mission capability.

Jason Lambert, President of ISR at L3Harris, stated that adapting commercial jets to military-grade ISR standards has shortened delivery timelines and improved readiness. He noted that demand is growing for such converted platforms.

This delivery brings L3Harris’s total number of fielded missionized business jets to 103. The company says it has provided mission-specific modifications to aircraft from over 130 different platform types, serving ISR, maritime patrol, and other operational needs.

An additional 14 business jet modifications are currently underway as part of ongoing orders.
