The 18th edition of the International Defence and Security Technologies Fair (IDET) took place from May 28 to 30 in Brno, Czech Republic, marking a record-breaking year for the event. According to Michalis Busios, Project Director of IDET, this year’s fair featured nearly 650 companies from 35 countries, drawing over 30,000 visitors and official delegations from 52 foreign armed forces.
IDET 2025 highlighted two new thematic areas: space defense and 3D technologies. “The battlefield is shifting into the universe,” Busios stated, explaining the relevance of space-related defense capabilities. Both focus areas were supported by professional conferences, attracting high-level speakers and industry experts from across the globe.
The event served as a platform not only for Czech defense companies but also for international firms, several of which chose IDET to unveil their products for the first time. “The importance of IDET lies in the strength of the Czech defense industry, but global brands were also prominently present,” Busios told defensehere.com.With increased international participation and new domains of focus, IDET continues to strengthen its standing among global defense and security exhibitions. Busios noted that the team is already looking ahead to expand the show further for the next edition.
