The formation of the subsidiary follows regulatory approval and involves the transfer of nearly all assets from Resonant Holding and its affiliated entities to the new venture. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Rheinmetall Resonant South Africa is expected to generate over €100 million in annual sales. The company currently employs approximately 150 people and specializes in the design and construction of production plants for chemical and explosive products.

This development marks an expansion of Rheinmetall’s industrial footprint, aimed at increasing vertical integration in the production of chemical precursors such as propellants and explosives. The move aligns with the group's broader strategy to enhance its capabilities in the independent planning, construction, and operation of ammunition-related facilities.

The South African venture is intended to complement Rheinmetall’s existing activities in plant engineering, particularly in areas related to chemicals, energy, and explosives technologies, as well as industrialization and manufacturing.
