Türkiye's HAVELSAN has reached its 60th delivery milestone for its Ship Data Distribution System (GVDS) product family, used in both surface vessels and submarines.
The GVDS and its submarine variant known as the Submarine Data Distribution System (DBDS), are central to modern naval platforms, managing data flow and system integration under demanding operational conditions. Designed and produced entirely with domestic resources, the systems have been deployed on vessels operated by the Turkish Navy for over 15 years.
The latest unit, destined for the eighth MİLGEM-class corvette, successfully passed factory acceptance tests with the highest grade. HAVELSAN made its first delivery of GVDS to the TCG Heybeliada (MİLGEM-1) in 2009.
According to company data, the cumulative operational time of all delivered GVDS and DBDS units now exceeds 300 years. The systems operate continuously, maintaining high availability and low failure rates. Additional Turkish Navy vessels are scheduled to receive installations in the coming years.
Over the past year, HAVELSAN has maintained an average delivery rate of one system per month. The company has also increased the domestic production share of the GVDS/DBDS to over 80%, manufacturing components such as single-board computers, interface cards, time cards, power units, backplanes, time servers and GNSS subsystems in-house.
The systems provide the data infrastructure required for onboard sensors and weapon systems, including radars and naval guns to operate at peak performance even in rough seas and adverse weather. HAVELSAN develops and produces the majority of electronic boards, all software and mechanical components for the product family, which continues to operate 24/7 without significant faults across numerous platforms.
