GKN Aerospace has signed a six-year extension contract with BAE Systems to continue manufacturing transparencies for the Eurofighter Typhoon fleet through the end of 2030. The transparencies will be produced at GKN Aerospace’s facility in Luton, supporting the long-term sustainment of the Typhoon programme.

The agreement ensures uninterrupted supply of critical components to international operators of the Typhoon aircraft and secures continued production activity at the Luton site. It also provides greater visibility and stability for GKN Aerospace’s defence order book over the next decade.

Shawn Black, President of GKN Aerospace’s Defence business, described the agreement as a continuation of the company's longstanding role within the Typhoon programme, amid evolving demands across the European defence landscape.

The Eurofighter Typhoon, developed by a consortium of Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, is currently operated by nine air forces. The programme supports thousands of jobs in the UK and contributes significantly to the country's defence exports.
