The Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) 2024 officially opened at Sakhir Air Base, inaugurated by Deputy King Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa on behalf of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The 7th edition of the event, which runs until November 15, features over 125 aircraft, including the B-52H Stratofortress from the US Department of Defense and flydubai’s static display.
The opening day included a display from the Royal Bahraini Air Force and Gulf Air, with additional industry announcements. Bahrain’s Valo Aviation became the country’s first business jet operator upon receiving its Bahraini Air Operators Certificate (AOC), aiming to expand its fleet to 15 aircraft in the coming years. In cybersecurity, IronNet and Asterion announced a partnership to combine AI-based defense and counter-UAS technologies for enhanced infrastructure protection.
In addition to the aircraft displays, BIAS 2024 is hosting a series of panels and industry-focused discussions, covering the latest advancements and trends in aviation and defense. These discussions provide a forum for companies and government representatives to explore topics such as AI-driven aviation solutions, sustainability in air travel, and the integration of advanced cybersecurity measures within civil and military aviation systems.
The event’s flying displays feature top international teams and aircraft, including the RBAF F-16, Saudi Hawks, RSAF Typhoon, Pakistan Air Force JF-17, and India’s Sarang Helicopter Team.
BIAS 2024 continues on November 14 and 15, with additional live demonstrations, industry panels, and networking opportunities for aviation and defense professionals.
