Embraer and Flexjet sign $7 billion deal for business jets

Embraer Executive Jets, a division of Embraer, has signed an agreement with Flexjet, a company specializing in fractional jet ownership. The deal, valued at up to $7 billion, includes a firm order for 182 aircraft, with an option for 30 additional jets. This marks the largest firm order placed by Flexjet and the most significant single order for the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer’s executive jets.

The order consists of Praetor 600, Praetor 500, and Phenom 300E models, along with a suite of services and support. The agreement continues the cooperation between the two companies, which began in 2003 when Flight Options, later merged into Flexjet, introduced the Legacy executive jet into its fleet.

Flexjet has previously been the first fleet customer for several models of the Brazilian aviation giant, including the Phenom 300 in 2010, the Legacy 450 in 2016, and the Praetor 500/600 in 2019. Flexjet CEO Michael Silvestro stated that the company has received more than 150 aircraft from the manufacturer since 2003 and emphasized the role of the Praetor series in its operations across North America and Europe.

With this agreement, Flexjet’s fleet is expected to expand significantly over the next five years. The President & CEO of Embraer Executive Jets, Michael Amalfitano, noted that the agreement extends the long-standing partnership between the companies.

Flexjet’s global fleet includes aircraft from Embraer alongside models from other manufacturers. The company also operates a helicopter division with Sikorsky S-76 helicopters serving various regions.
