The new 51,000 sq. ft. facility, scheduled to open in the second half of 2026, will offer comprehensive paint services for Bombardier’s Global, Challenger, and Learjet aircraft. Designed as a two-bay facility, it will create over 50 new jobs for highly skilled technicians, supporting both maintenance and refurbishment needs.
This expansion complements Bombardier’s existing 250,000 sq. ft. service centre at Biggin Hill, which provides scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, avionics upgrades, and aircraft modifications. Since its inauguration in 2017 and a significant expansion in 2022, the Biggin Hill Service Centre has become a key hub within the company’s global support network.
Paul Sislian, Executive Vice President of Aftermarket Service & Strategy at the company, highlighted the strategic importance of this development: “The addition of the new paint facility at London Biggin Hill is a testament to our ongoing efforts to enhance service offerings for our customers. It aligns with our goal of delivering an exceptional customer experience, ensuring their aircraft are mission-ready and impeccably maintained.”
The investment follows Bombardier’s recent initiatives in the UK, including the 2024 launch of a 700 sq. ft. material lounge in partnership with luxury interiors specialist F/LIST, providing clients with access to premium interior materials. Additionally, Bombardier has installed over 3,000 solar panels on the roof of the service centre, underscoring its commitment to sustainability.Further expanding its UK footprint, Bombardier established a line maintenance station at Farnborough Airport in 2023, offering Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) support and light maintenance services.
With the new paint facility, Bombardier continues to strengthen its service capabilities, enhancing support for its growing customer base in Europe and beyond.
