According to Airbus Defence, the integration efforts will focus on three key areas:
Command and control (C2): Establishing seamless communication between SIRTAP and the ship’s systems.
Combat system integration: Ensuring the UAV operates effectively within the naval combat framework.
Navigation support: Facilitating take-off and landing operations from the carrier.
The initiative seeks to achieve full integration between SIRTAP and Juan Carlos I, enhancing mission capabilities, operational flexibility, and the overall effectiveness of both platforms in diverse operational scenarios.
Airbus and Navantia emphasized that this agreement could pave the way for additional capabilities for the Spanish Navy, strengthening Spain’s defense industry and contributing to the country’s strategic sovereignty.
