Czechoslovak Group (CSG), the largest defence industry holding in the Czech Republic, presented its latest armoured vehicle platform, the Pandur 8x8 EVO, at the IDET 2025 defence exhibition held in Brno in May. The vehicle is produced by Tatra Defence Vehicle (TDV), a CSG subsidiary specializing in armoured and special wheeled platforms.
Speaking to defensehere.com during the event, CSG spokesperson Andrej Čírtek shared insights into the vehicle’s development and strategic role. Designed in cooperation with GDELS-Steyr, the Pandur 8x8 EVO incorporates advanced technologies tailored to meet the operational demands of modern armed forces. Building on the legacy of earlier Pandur models, the EVO version enhances mobility, survivability, and modularity, allowing for versatile mission configurations. The vehicle integrates modern counter-drone capabilities, combining a Bushmaster cannon capable of firing programmable ammunition with the latest generation of the Iron Fist active protection system. Originally designed for anti-missile defence, Iron Fist now also provides protection against drone threats an increasingly critical requirement in contemporary conflict zones.
To support situational awareness and faster decision-making, the Pandur 8x8 EVO is equipped with augmented reality and AI-supported command systems. These technologies allow the crew to process environmental data in real time, increasing responsiveness and operational efficiency on complex battlefields.
The platform is designed for both domestic and international users, addressing the needs of the Czech Armed Forces as well as allied and partner nations. For further insights and technical details, watch the full interview with Andrej Čírtek below:
