GIRSAN, one of Türkiye’s leading firearms manufacturers, has taken a significant step to strengthen its global presence by establishing GIRSAN USA in the state of Florida. The company aims to use its new base to streamline distribution across North and South America, with plans to gradually expand operations into assembly and production.
GIRSAN Chairman Veysel Cürgül stated that the registration process for GIRSAN USA is underway, adding, “We will initially start with distribution activities in the United States. From Florida, we will provide logistics to both North and South America. In 2026, we plan to launch an assembly line, followed in the coming years by a full production facility.”
Highlighting the strategic importance of investing in the US market, Cürgül said, “All major global companies have a presence in America. It is the main hub for small arms manufacturers. A large share of our exports already goes to the American continent. By managing distribution locally, we will simplify processes and, once production begins, achieve a cost advantage. Establishing a company in Florida and planning a production facility there is a source of pride for us.”
Currently exporting to more than 55 countries, GIRSAN supplies its products to civilian users as well as military and law enforcement customers. The company also holds the distinction of being the first domestic supplier of pistols to the Turkish Armed Forces.
GIRSAN’s international recognition grew further when the US Special Forces selected the company’s MC P35 pistol for official use, marking the first time an American unit fielded a Turkish-made sidearm. The same model had earlier been named “2024 Handgun of the Year” by the National Rifle Association (NRA) and featured on the cover of American Rifleman magazine as the first Turkish pistol to receive such recognition. With the launch of GIRSAN USA, the company seeks to expand its export capacity, secure a stronger foothold in the American market, and establish local production that offers both logistical efficiency and cost benefits. This move stands out as a strategic milestone for Türkiye’s defense industry on the global stage.
