Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry condemned Israel’s air strike in Qatar’s capital Doha, saying it targeted members of the Hamas negotiation team.
“Targeting the Hamas delegation while ceasefire talks are ongoing shows that Israel seeks to prolong war rather than pursue peace,” the ministry said.
The statement noted that Qatar, a key mediator in the ceasefire negotiations, has now been added to the list of countries targeted by Israel. “This is clear evidence that Israel pursues an expansionist policy in the region and embraces terrorism as state policy,” it added.
Ankara stressed that it stands with Qatar “against this despicable attack that targeted its sovereignty and security.”
The ministry reiterated its call on the international community to exert pressure to stop Israel’s ongoing aggression in Palestine and across the region.
The strike in Doha was confirmed by Israeli authorities, who said it was conducted with ten fighter jets and in coordination with the Shin Bet security agency. Hamas sources reported that the targeted delegation survived. Qatar’s Foreign Ministry condemned the attack as a “cowardly” act, while the United Nations described it as a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
