Dearsan Shipyard, a prominent Turkish shipbuilding company recognized among the world’s leading shipyards, has laid the keels for the first two 50-meter missile boats being constructed for the Qatar Navy. The keel-laying ceremony marks a significant milestone in the project, which is expected to provide strategic contributions to Qatar's maritime security.
The event was attended by Lieutenant General Abdullah Hassan Al Sulaiti, Commander of the Qatar Emiri Naval Forces, Dearsan Chairman Aziz Yıldırım, and other distinguished officials. The ceremony began with a recitation of the Quran by Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Al Bader, Deputy Head of Qatar’s Project Control Office.

“As Dearsan Shipyard, we signed a contract on June 21, 2023, in Doha for the construction of two 50-meter missile boats for Qatar. The project officially commenced on February 12, 2024. With the invaluable contributions of the Qatar Naval Forces Command, we have successfully completed the critical design review process. We believe these state-of-the-art vessels, whose keels were laid today, will significantly contribute to the State of Qatar's maritime security and play a role in maintaining peace and stability in the region.”
Strategic Partnership Between Dearsan and QatarThe agreement between Dearsan Shipyard and the Qatar Armed Forces underscores their commitment to strengthening maritime capabilities. Signed on June 21, 2023, in Doha, the contract includes the production of two 50-meter missile boats tailored to the operational requirements of the Qatar Navy.
Work on the project began on February 12, 2024, and highlights Dearsan’s position as a global leader in shipbuilding and its dedication to fostering international collaboration.
