Turkish defense company STM has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Malaysia’s Ventura IOT Sdn. Bhd. to cooperate in the field of tactical unmanned aerial vehicle systems. The agreement was concluded during the ASEAN 2025 Summit in Kuala Lumpur, where Malaysia hosts the organization’s chairmanship under the theme “Inclusivity and Sustainability.”

STM said in a statement that the partnership aims to strengthen its international cooperation and expand its technology-driven operations in the Asia-Pacific region. “We signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ventura IOT Sdn. Bhd. in the field of Tactical UAV Systems during the ASEAN 2025 Summit,” the company announced on social media.

Ventura IOT, based in Selangor, provides system integration and surveillance solutions, including fiber optic sensing, fire and gas systems, and Internet of Things technologies. Through the agreement, both sides are expected to explore collaboration opportunities in surveillance and tactical UAV technologies for defense and security applications.

Founded in 1991 to support Türkiye’s defense modernization efforts, STM has been involved in several strategic national programs, including the country’s first indigenous frigate and loitering munition. In recent years, the company has focused on exporting its engineering solutions, particularly in naval systems, tactical mini UAVs, and cybersecurity, to a growing number of international partners.
