Saudi Arabia has officially launched its pavilion at the DEFEA 2025 defense and security exhibition, currently underway in Athens, Greece from May 6 to 8. This marks the Kingdom’s first participation at the event, with the Saudi pavilion organized under the leadership of the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), and with the participation of the General Authority for Defense Development (GADD) and Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI).
The opening ceremony yesterday was attended by several senior officials, including GAMI Governor Eng. Ahmad Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, Chief of Staff of the Royal Saudi Land Forces Lt. Gen. Fahd Bin Saud Al-Juhani, and Chargé d’Affaires of the Saudi Embassy in Greece, Mr. Mohanad Nabil Al-Basrawi. Following the inauguration, the delegation toured the pavilion and was briefed on the technologies and systems on display.
The Saudi presence at DEFEA 2025 centers around advanced defense and security technologies developed by national companies, as well as efforts to deepen international cooperation through strategic partnerships. The pavilion also highlights regulatory frameworks, investment incentives, and localization goals aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 strategy.
GAMI's leadership reiterated that Saudi Arabia’s participation is part of a broader initiative to position the Kingdom as a key player in the global defense industry, with a focus on transferring technology, attracting foreign investment, and increasing domestic production capacity to meet national defense objectives.
