Saab announced it has received an order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for Saab Lightweight Torpedoes, designated Torped 47, and torpedo tubes.
The order value is approximately SEK 1.3 billion, with deliveries planned for 2026.
This is the second order of the torpedo system, which has previously been delivered to FMV.
The torpedo is designed for operations from submarines and surface ships, and is prepared for integration on helicopters.
According to Saab, the torpedo is developed to operate in the challenging environment of the Baltic Sea, including shallow water, complex topography, and varying seabed conditions.
