Saab has received a SEK 1.7 billion (approximately $159 million) contract for the maintenance and modernization of TAURUS KEPD 350 cruise missiles. The agreement, spanning from 2025 to 2035, aims to enhance the capabilities of the German Air Force’s missile inventory through extensive system upgrades and life cycle maintenance.

The order was placed by the German defence procurement office (BAAINBw) with TAURUS Systems, a joint venture between MBDA Germany and Saab, which then awarded the contract to the Nordic defense giant.

“TAURUS KEPD 350 enables the user to defeat targets at long ranges required for the most demanding air operations. The latest upgrades will provide the German Air Force with significant improvements,” said Görgen Johansson, Head of the Swedish company’s business area Dynamics.

TAURUS KEPD 350 is an air-launched cruise missile with a range exceeding 500 km, designed to neutralize static ground-based targets.
