Rheinmetall has been awarded a contract to supply ammunition to an Eastern European customer under a U.S. government program. The deal is being carried out through Global Military Products, which serves as the prime contractor.
As part of the agreement, Rheinmetall Expal Munitions will deliver 155 mm M107 projectiles with M4A2 propellant charges and 105 mm M1 projectiles. The total contract value is approximately €444 million. Of this, €170 million had already been booked as a pre-order, with the remaining €274 million now confirmed as new orders. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026 and conclude by June 2027.
Rheinmetall has been expanding its ammunition production capacity since 2022, aiming to reach an output of up to 1.5 million 155 mm artillery shells annually by 2027. The company manufactures a broad range of ammunition, from medium-calibre rounds for armored vehicles and air defense systems to tank and artillery shells, aircraft weapons and laser-based applications.
