Amid escalating tensions and security crises, nations continue to increase their defense spending and investments in this area. The Nordic Defense Cooperation (NORDEFCO), which includes the Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, is conducting a series of studies aimed at strengthening the national defense of its member states.
As part of these efforts, the Danish government recently signed an agreement with the Norwegian defense company Nammo to reopen an ammunition factory in the Eling area north of the Jutland Peninsula to manufacture artillery shells and mortars. To fulfill its commitments, Namu signed an agreement with Repkon to cooperate in the production of ammunition.
Under the contract, Rebkon will install a complete facility for filling TNT, IMX-101, and IMX-104 explosives into 155 mm artillery shells.
In addition to conventional ammunition, the new facility will also fill modern, high-powered, new-generation ammunition.
Repkon
The company has recently attracted considerable attention as one of the few companies with ammunition filling technology. It has recently signed contracts with the United States, Germany, Spain, Ukraine, Pakistan, and Azerbaijan to establish ammunition production lines.
In addition to its existing capabilities, Repkon has added Bowas, which operates in Austria, Italy, and Switzerland, to its portfolio in order to meet growing demand. Bowas is renowned for its expertise in the design and production of equipment for the explosives and raw materials industry, as well as in the construction of facilities. Repkon is the only company in the world that can build a factory for the production of metal parts and a factory for the packaging and production of explosives.
