More than ten Saudi organizations are taking part in the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2025), which opened today in Istanbul. The Saudi delegation is housed in a national pavilion organized by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), representing both public and private sector stakeholders.

Held under the auspices of Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense and supported by the Presidency of Defense Industries, IDEF 2025 runs from July 22 to 27 and is regarded as one of the key international events for defense industry stakeholders. The Saudi delegation includes participants such as the General Authority for Defense Development (GADD), Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), INTRA Defense Technologies, NCMS, and others.

The Saudi pavilion was officially inaugurated by GAMI Governor Eng. Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, joined by Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs Dr. Khaled bin Hussein Biyari and senior officials from Saudi Arabia and other countries. During the opening tour, delegates were briefed on a range of Saudi-developed military technologies and industrial capabilities.

According to GAMI, the Kingdom’s presence at IDEF 2025 is intended to highlight developments in its defense manufacturing sector and to build new international partnerships. The initiative also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goal to localize over half of its military procurement by the end of the decade.

Participating companies are expected to present systems and technologies across multiple defense domains. The pavilion will also host bilateral meetings with global defense firms, focusing on knowledge exchange, investment opportunities, and potential collaborations.

In addition to promoting its domestic defense ecosystem, GAMI is using the event to outline its regulatory framework, investment incentives, and national priorities to international partners.
