NATO confirms 2026 Summit to be held in Ankara

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced on 19 August 2025 that the next NATO Summit will take place on 7–8 July 2026 in Ankara, Türkiye. The meeting will be held at the Beştepe Presidential Compound.

“I want to thank Türkiye for hosting this important meeting. Türkiye has been a strong NATO Ally for more than 70 years, making invaluable contributions to our shared security. At our next Summit, leaders will continue to make NATO a stronger, fairer and more lethal Alliance, ready to respond to the critical challenges to our security,” Rutte said.

This will be the second time Türkiye has hosted a NATO Summit, following the 2004 gathering in Istanbul. NATO Summits bring together Allied leaders to take key decisions on the Alliance’s strategic direction and priorities.
