The fifth edition of Military Radar and Border Security Summit (MRBS) opened today (7th Oct.) in Ankara. Organized by the Ankara branch of the Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (MÜSİAD) with the support of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of National Defense and the Secretariat of Defence Industries (SSB), the event brings together local manufacturers and foreign delegations to discuss new technologies and cooperation in defense and security.

Deputy Minister of National Defense Bilal Durdalı said radar systems and AI-based surveillance tools are now key to national security, emphasizing their growing role in deterrence and early warning.

Hüseyin Kök, head of the Directorate General of Migration Management, noted that integrated technologies such as electro-optical systems, sensors and drones have strengthened border security, adding that Türkiye is no longer a major route for irregular migration.

SSB Deputy Chairman Mustafa Murat Şeker highlighted projects using seismic sensors, AI-supported analytics and unmanned systems to counter evolving threats.

MÜSİAD President Burhan Özdemir said Türkiye’s defense industry has reduced foreign dependency and reached 80 percent localization, exporting to over 180 countries. MÜSİAD Ankara Chairman Fatih Bilal Yülek underlined that future security will depend on technological superiority and continued cooperation between the public and private sectors.

Among the exhibitors at MRBS are ASELSAN, HAVELSAN, ROKETSAN, STM, Turkish Aerospace, and ASFAT.
