The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2025 (Lima’25) concluded after a five-day run, drawing an estimated 450,000 visitors, including industry representatives, government officials, and members of the public.
Held at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC), this year’s edition brought together 860 exhibitors from both local and international defense and aerospace sectors. According to Malaysian Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, the participation rate surpassed that of the previous edition, with exhibitors evenly split between domestic and foreign companies.
Despite intermittent rain, the event proceeded as planned, with attendees continuing to engage in displays and discussions. A highlight on the final day included a performance by the Russian Knights aerobatic team, which attracted large crowds to the outdoor air display area once the weather cleared.
Throughout the event, Lima’25 hosted 1,400 business-to-business meetings and 920 business-to-government engagements. Organizers noted that this level of interaction reflects ongoing interest in Malaysia’s defense sector and points to broader efforts to encourage domestic capability development and reduce reliance on external suppliers.
This year also saw the debut of a new feature called the A.T.M.O.S Sphere — an immersive dome experience centered around Aerospace, Technology, Maritime, and Operations for Sustainability. The installation utilized 360-degree projection technology to showcase emerging innovations and future-forward themes in security and defense.
In addition to aircraft demonstrations and naval asset displays, Lima’25 included a larger static exhibition area than previous years, with equipment and technologies from various countries on show.
Organized by Malaysia’s Ministry of Defence in partnership with Global Exhibitions and Conferences Sdn Bhd (GEC), Lima remains Southeast Asia’s largest defense and aerospace exhibition since its inception in 1991.
