South Korean defense company LIG Nex1 has expanded and relocated its office in Saudi Arabia, aiming to strengthen its position in the Middle East market.
The company held an opening ceremony last Thursday in Riyadh, attended by Chief Executive Officer Shin Ick-hyun, Saudi government officials, and representatives from local defense companies.
The new office is intended to function as a regional hub for communications and coordination, in line with LIG Nex1’s strategy to increase its presence in the region.
With regional demand rising for advanced weapons systems such as the long-range surface-to-air missile (L-SAM), the company has established separate operational and research and development units focused on arms exports and after-sales support in cooperation with local partners.
According to Yonhap News Agency, a company representative said: “We expect the expanded office to enable smoother collaboration with customers in Saudi Arabia and other countries. We will further solidify our position in the Middle East market through continuous business expansion and localization strategies.”
