Video footage from USS Carl Vinson's Pilot's Landing Aid Television (PLAT) camera has been leaked showing the US Navy F-35 plane crash during its landing on to the aircraft carrier in the South China Sea.
The date in the upper left corner of the video shows 24.01.22. “An F-35C Lightning II, assigned to Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 2, had a landing mishap on deck while USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) was conducting routine flight operations in the South China Sea, Jan. 24,” a navy statement had said after the crash.
The footage appears to show the F-35 colliding with the ramp of the USS Carl Vinson before bursting into flames and skidding off the deck.
